William E. Bill Blankenship, Jr. age 52 of Clovis passed away Friday, October 5, 2007 near Conchas Dam, New Mexico. He was born September 2, 1955 in Savannah, Georgia to William and Mildred J. Jennings Blankenship. He married Debby Betty February 17, 1979 in Clovis, New Mexico. He worked for the Clovis Fire Department for 28 years where he retired as a Lieutenant. He was currently an associate broker for Rental Property Management in Clovis with his father and Don Sullivan. He also worked as a Deputy Field Medical Investigator with the Office of the Medical Investigator in Albuquerque, New Mexico for the past 6 years and was currently the District Representative. Bill loved life and enjoyed riding his motorcycle; he was a member of Kingswood United Methodist Church in Clovis.
He is survived by his wife Debby Blankenship of Clovis; one son Jason and wife Jackie Blankenship of Clovis; one daughter Brynn Blankenship of Clovis; his parents William Bill and Mildred Blankenship of Clovis; one sister Becky Shober and Don Sullivan of Clovis; one grandson Evan Blankenship of Clovis; two nephews Ryan Shober of Henderson, Nevada;
Brad Shober of Portales, New Mexico.
Services will be held Wednesday October 10, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. at First United Methodist Church in Clovis with Rev. Brad Reeves officiating. Burial will follow at Lawn Haven Memorial Gardens with honors by the Clovis Fire Department and the New Mexico State Police. Honorary Pallbearers will be his OMI co-workers in Albuquerque, and Clovis, Lynn Henderson, Phillip Jackson, Roger Dial, and Kathy Sando, Clovis Kiwanis Club and the Curry County Sherriff Department.
