William Harpold Obituary
William Brent Harpold went to be with his heavenly father June 27, 2024. Will was born July 31, 1971 in Clovis, New Mexico to Vern Harpold and Jeanie House. Will was raised at the family home outside Clovis and attended Clovis High School, graduating in 1989. After high school, he went to work, working various jobs including driving truck for Phipps farms and as a farm hand on harvest. In 1996, he was hired on as a conductor and an engineer for Burlington Northern Santa Fe railway, working with them for 28 years and serving as a union representative and the vice local chairman for 12 years. He would go on to become a Safety Team Leader. Will was an avid woodworker and a well-known collector of hobbies, always dabbling in some kind of craft, including beer brewing, canning, boating, fishing, and scouting. Will was also a dedicated scout master, taking his boys and their scout troop on campouts and other activities, inspiring them and instilling a sense of woodsmanship and love of the outdoors.
In 1994, Will married the love of his life Lorna Wright. Together they had two sons, Trystan (1996), and Seth (1999). Will is preceded in death by his father Vern Harpold and his grandparents, Elmer (Verna) Harpold and C.A. (Imagene) House. He is survived by his wife, Lorna Harpold, his mother, Jeanie Stone, of Clovis, NM, his brothers Wayne (Laura) Harpold, of Kansas City, KS, and Waylon (LaShona) Harpold, of Clovis, NM, his sister-in-law Jennifer, of Clovis, NM, his two sons Seth Harpold, of Amarillo, TX and Trystan (Trianna) Harpold, of Las Cruces, NM, his nephews, Caxton (Cherokee) Harpold, of Clovis, and Breyer Harpold, of Clovis, and great nephews and nieces Adelynn, Aiden, Rylie, and Ryder. Pallbearers will be Chris Lewis, Brad Busby, Caxton Harpold, Breyer Harpold, Zach Brooks, and Jarrod Strange.
Visitation will be 5:00 to 7:00pm on Sunday, June 30th at Steed-Todd Funeral Home of Clovis, NM.
Services will be at 2:00pm on Monday, July 1st at Central Baptist Church. A burial will follow at Lawn Haven Cemetery.
