William Smith

William Robert Lee Smith, 72, passed away on August 15, 2016 after a long illness.

He was born in Missouri, the son of Robert and Maude Smith. He moved to Utah in his teens. He married Lenore and had 2 sons, Roger and Dennis. They later divorced and he married Gwen Williams. They had a daughter, Shelli. They later divorced, and then he met Susan Short, who became the love of his life. They had a wonderful life together. He worked at Hill AFB for 34 years and was a proud member of the Navy Reserves for 20 years. He was an animal lover and spent many years as a posse dad and later, was involved with showing and raising his and Susan's beloved dogs.

He is preceded in death by his mother and father.

He is survived by his constant companion, Susan Short; children, Roger Smith, Dennis (Tina) Smith, and Shelli Smith; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild. He was also a step-father to Penni Poulsen, Barbara (Steve) Cope, Vivienne (Curtis) Couch, and Jim (Pepper) Short, along with 9 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.

We would like to thank the wonderful people at Interim Hospice for the fantastic care they provided in the last days of his life.

Final interment will take place in Chehalis, Washington.
