William Stephens

William Bill Stephens, 71, passed away Saturday, December 20, 2008 at his home in Clovis. Services will be held at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, December 23 at Steed Todd Chapel. Burial will follow in Melrose, NM at the Melrose Cemetery.

He was born on June 3, 1937 to J. W. Shorty and Beatrice Stephens in Clovis. Bill married Laquita Hoover on November 11, 1955

He owned and operated Stephens Construction Ready Mix, Inc. in Clovis until his retirement in 2002. Bill was a member of the Fraternal Order of

I

Eagles where he served as local president in 1985-86. He loved going fishing with his family and friends and spent many hours at the lake on his boat.

I He was preceded in death by his parents; two sons, Steven and Troyce; one grandson, Cory Sullivan; one brother, Wesley Stephens; one sister, Cordie Lockmiller.

Survivors include his wife of the home; 3 daughters Kathy David Jones of Clovis, Deborah Oran J. Autrey of Texico, Janice Lea of Clovis; ten grandchildren, T.J. Trull, Brandon Tricia Autrey, Ryan Elizabeth Autrey, Jason Trull, Nicki Autrey, Jonathan Sullivan, Colton Autrey, Tent Autrey, Cassandra Robby Hall and Shannon Jones; eleven great-grand children and one great-great grandson. He is also survived by two sisters; Beulah Elbert Mitchell and Peggy Sam Neff.

Pallbearers will be his grandsons. His Brothers from the Fraternal Order of Eagles will serve as Honorary Pallbearers.
