William Woods

William Houston Jack Woods, 86 of Farwell, Texas passed away on Friday, December 18, 2009. Graveside services will be Monday, December 21 at 2:00 p.m. at Sunset Terrace Memorial Cemetery in Farwell, Texas.

Jack was born October 24, 1923 at the Woods home in McClain County, Oklahoma to W. E. and Pearl Woods. Jack had lived in Farwell since 1949, moving there from Oklahoma with his family. He worked for many years at Helton Oil Company. He was a veteran of World War II, having served his country proudly as a member of the United States Army.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Elwanda Woods, his parents, a brother Gene, and a sister Bernice.

He is survived by a brother, Carliss Woods of Farwell; Stepsons Roy Wagner of Las Cruces, New Mexico and Frank Wagner of Roswell, New Mexico; a stepdaughter, Mary Pitkaheh, of Aurora, Minnesota; nephews, Mike Woods Leigh Ann of Farwell, David Woods Christina of Friona, Texas and niece Sheryl Taylor Greg of Canyon, Texas.
