Wilma Hare
1929 2012
Wilma Hare passed away Friday, October 26, 2012 at Plains Regional Medical Center, embraced by the love of her family . She was born in Whiteflat, Texas on February 11, 1929 to Jim and Jewel Smith, and graduated from Matador High School in Matador, Texas. In the mid1940s, she moved with her husband, KJ Clifton, to Clovis where they raised their two children, Don and Becky. She later became employed at Southwestern Public Service as a Cashier, where she was known for her hard work ethic and warm smile. Wilma was a faithful member of the Clovis Advent Christian Church where she served her Lord helping the elder members, serving on the food committee, Treasurer of the Womens Home and Foreign Mission Society, and Secretary of the Senior Sunday School Class. Wilma was always there for her Church family, and her gentle and kind spirit was a testament of her love for her Lord.
Wilma was devoted to her family, and she was able to help each one with her very special talent of making them feel cherished and loved. Her sense of humor, love for life, and unfailing energy was an inspiration. Wilma was very active until the end of her life, loving to swim, walk, travel with her family, and growing her flowers from seeds surrounded by her rock gardens and lawn. Wilma was an avid arrowhead hunter, loved animals, shared the joys of loving her granddogs with her family, and all would smile as she meticulously cared for and zipped around in her treasured Z. Everyone who met Wilma soon became her friend, and she could entertain everyone with stories of her family, friends, and experiences in life.
Wilma was preceded in death by her parents, her brother, J.P. Smith, and soninlaw, Gary Wells. She is survived by one son Don Diana Clifton of Clovis and daughter, Becky Wells, of Albuquerque one brother, David Margaret Smith of Springville, CA three grandchildren, Dr. Kelly Wells Joshua and Greg Wells of Albuquerque, and Cash Clifton of Clovis one adopted grandson, Humberto Pillado, also of Clovis and her extended Smith and Martin families.
The Memorial Service for Wilma will be held Wednesday, October 31, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at the Clovis Advent Christian Church, 2101 E. 21st Street with the Reverend Sam Walsh officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in the form of a tithe to the Clovis Advent Christian Church.
