Winnie Dinnie Nutt, 74, of Clovis, New Mexico, died Tuesday, October 13, 2009, at Plains Regional Medical Center. She was born August 5, 1935, in Gotebo, Oklahoma to George Susie Bailey Medley.
She did not come into this world alone. She had a brother and sister arrive at the same time. She was proud of her Oklahoma heritage. When she was in the eighth grade her family moved to Farwell, Texas, where they had a farm and continued farming until her father retired. She finished her school years at Farwell. She enjoyed school and was in the band.
She married Lee Nutt January 14, 1956. They lived in Clovis their entire married life except for a short time in 1957-1958 when they lived in Lovington, New Mexico. They had three children and they always knew she was there and that God and family were her most valued possessions. Her children were so blessed to have this wonderful Mom. Her grandchildren could only learn from her about right and wrong, good and bad and how Christian people live. She was a lifelong member of the Church of Christ.
She was a teacher of many things over her life and the whole family would get together every year and can. She taught daily life skills. If there was a need she always had an ear to listen and advice if needed. She let her children make their way, but never was far away. She worked outside of the home off and on through the years but her number one purpose was to be Mom. Mom had really become Dinnie over the past few years. She knew what made her happy and kept on a track with God.
She did her job and when she passed she knew she had done her best for all she loved.
She always helped and gave all she could to anyone. She had a good life and was loved by all. She is survived by 2 sons, Kenneth Nutt Kenni of Clovis and Kalvin Nutt Sofia of California, Maryland; 1 daughter, Karen Ashley of Clovis; 2 sisters, Sue Christian of Odessa, Texas and Minnie Fleming of Clovis and 1 brother, William Medley of Amarillo, Texas; 12 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her childrens father, Lee F. Nutt; 1 brother, Jack and 2 sisters, Jean Ava.
Services will be at 2:00 p.m. Friday, October 16, 2009, at 16th Pile Church of Christ with Doug Young officiating. Burial will follow at Lawn Haven Memorial Gardens.
