Helen Nolen Gongaware of Clovis, NM passed away on March 26, 2015.
Helen was born to John Valentine and Mary Matilda Daniel in Mountainair, NM.
She was married to E.R. Nolen on December 23, 1937 until 1972. Later she married Harold Gongaware in 1984 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Helen was a financial wizard. She jointly owned and operated Red's Boat Shop from 1937 - 1973. Afterwards she managed several rental properties throughout Clovis.
Helen is survived by her husband, Harold Gongaware; one son, Charles W. "Butch" Nolen and wife Prenetta of Logan, NM; one step-son, Mark Gongaware and wife Rachel of Yuma, AZ; one daughter, Darlene Lee and husband Tommie of Austin, TX; one brother, Haskel Valentine of Bloomfield, NM; five grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents, five sisters, and three brothers.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday, April 10, 2015, at Steed Todd Chapel with Pastor Chris Boatman of High Plains Baptist Church officiating.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of your choice in Helen's honor.
