Jimmy Arias

Jimmy Arias, 68, of Clovis, NM, passed away February 24, 2015.

Jimmy was born December 21, 1946 in Santa Rosa, NM to Esmael Arias and Estella R. Ortega of Santa Rosa, NM. At age 5, his family moved to Clovis. Jimmy raised his family in Clovis but briefly lived in California. In 1983 he made Clovis his final home. He enjoyed crafting jewelry, raising cattle, playing the accordion, and was an avid animal lover. Jimmy was a great gardener, hunter, and fisherman. He was talented in many activities, especially outdoor ones.

He is preceded in death by his 4 brothers, Wilton Arias, Esmael Arias Jr., Jude Arias, Paul Louis Arias; and 3 sisters, Madalena Arias-Aragon, Loretta Arias-Balderas, and Agnes Arias Garcia.

He is survived by his 8 children, Norma Crispin of Albuquerque, NM, Joetta Hernandez of Nipomo, CA, Lori Vasquez of Bayou Sorell, LA, James Arias of Clovis, NM, Veronica Nunez of Portales, NM, Darlene Varela of Las Vegas, NM, Gabriel Gallegos of Las Vegas, NM, Albert Arias of Oklahoma City, OK; 1 step-child, Elizabeth Ontiveros of Alvarado, TX; 2 sisters, Geraldine Zamora of Burson, CA, Frances Arias of Clovis, NM; numerous grandchildren; and great-grandchildren.

A rosary will be recited at 6:00pm, Friday, February 27, 2015, at Steed Todd Chapel. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 2:00pm, Saturday, February 28, 2015, at Our Lady of Refuge in Puerto de Luna. Jimmy will be laid to rest at El Calvario Cemetery in Puerto de Luna, NM.
