Juanita Gonzales

Juanita Gonzales, 61, went to her forever home in the arms of our Lord on November 15, 2014. She was born on December 20, 1952 in Midland, TX to Gregorio and Guadalupe Castillo Fuentes.

Juanita lived for many years in Albuquerque, NM and moved to Portales in 2011. She was a member of St. Helens Catholic Church.

Juanita was a devoted Mother, Nana, Sister, Aunt and Godmother, and many called her friend. She was a strong woman who lived life to the fullest, and no matter what aches and pains she may have been suffering from, she would always put someone elses needs ahead of her own.

Juanita was an avid Dallas Cowboy fan and also loved to bowl. While living in Albuquerque Juanita belonged to a bowling league and played until her health deteriorated.
After moving to Portales, Juanitas greatest joy was watching her granddaughters play basketball and she attended as many games as she could.
All of her grandchildren would receive a gift on every holiday, and whenever she talked about them her face would glow with the love she felt.

Juanita was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her husband Fernando Antonio Gonzales of Albuquerque, NM son Greg Gonzales and wife Viola of Portales daughter Maria Merced Colon and husband Dennis of Melbourne, FL brother Fred Fuentes and wife Cuca of Mildand, TX sister Margie Elizardo and husband Lupe of Lubbock, TX 6 grandchildren, Dennis I.
Colon, Lucian S. Gonzales, Brittany A. Gonzales, Dominic B. Colon, Emma R.
Gonzales, and Darian E. Colon.
Honory pallbearers will be all of her nieces, nephews and Godchildren.

A Rosary will be recited at St. Helens Catholic Church on Thursday, Nov. 20 at 7pm. Funeral Mass will be held at St. Helens Catholic Church on Friday, Nov. 21 at 10am. Cremation has taken place. Burial will be held in Midland, TX at Fairview Cemetery at a later date.
