Samuel Light

Samuel Earl Light, age 83, of Clovis, New Mexico passed away November 6, 2014 in Clovis.

Sam was born March 26, 1931 in Melrose, New Mexico to Samuel M. and Laura M. Barlow Light. He served in the military in Japan and Korea from 1848 to 1953. He also lived in Arizona and Texas. He worked as an auto mechanic with a second career as a barber. Sam and Martha adopted and raised a granddaughter, Jackie Light Carroll.

Samuel is preceded in death by his wife, Martha P. Light, and his two brothers: Leo and Monroe Light.

He is survived by two sons David E. Light of Phoenix, Arizona, and Ralph and wife Elena Light of Peoria, Arizona two daughters: Joyce and husband Randy Polatis of Pingree, Idaho, and Lois L. Guzman of Glendale, Arizona one brother: Bobby Light of Clovis, NM three sisters: Nell Rankin of Texas, Vivian of Oklahoma, and Belle of California. He is also survived by 17 grandchildren, and 7 great grandchildren.

Graveside services will be held 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 11, 2014 at Lawn Haven Memorial Gardens in Clovis, New Mexico.
